Opera Software, though Ruarí Ødegaard, has announced today, February 10, that the developer channel of the amazing Opera web browser is now open and updated to version 29.0.1770.1, based on the Chromium 42.0.2287.0 web browser.

While this releases includes over 220 changes, the most important ones, which have been highlighted in the official blog post, are the ability to sync your open tabs between multiple devices and sound notification icon on tabs.

It's easier to continue your work from where you left off

The ability to sync open tabs between devices is more than welcome, as it will help users be more productive and continue their work on any of their devices without any hassle and without using bookmarks. Simply access the Recent tabs feature as explained below to continue from where you left off.

As you can see from the screenshots above, the new recent tabs list can be accessed from the Opera menu -> Recent tabs on Microsoft Windows, as well as on GNU/Linux systems that don’t use the Unity interface, and from History -> Recent tabs on Unity powered distributions or Mac OS X machines.

Closing websites that make noises is easier with Opera 29

On the other hand, the sound notification icon on tabs feature will make sure that you know if one of your opened tabs includes multimedia content, such as video and/or audio streams. The idea behind this functionality was born from the need to be more productive while surfing the Web and keep annoying noise made by certain web pages to a minimum. A small animation icon will pop up over the favicon of the website that makes “noises” helping you identify it immediately.

Users can download Opera 29.0.1770.1 for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X right now from Softpedia. Please keep in mind though that this is an unstable release and it should not be installed on production machines.
