A fix will be released when the issue is identified

Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital have just released the awesome Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number game on Steam for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows operating systems, but it appears that many users have some issues with keyboard and mouse, as it would appear that the game grabs both peripherals but does nothing with them. Some say that it’s an issue regarding the mouse being recognized as a joystick.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is a 2D top-down action video game with old-school graphics for nostalgic people who still remember the VHS era. It is the brutal sequel of the famous Hotline Miami arcade shooter and includes twenty awesome chapters, a bunch of cool characters, a riveting soundtrack, as well as interconnected storylines. Key features include relentless hostilities, over 40 pounding songs, and a custom level editor.

Numerous users complain about a mouse/keyboard issue with the game

In only a few hours after the official release of the game on Steam, numerous users started a forum thread complaining about a mouse/keyboard issue, which appears to affect users of Ubuntu 14.10, Arch Linux, Linux Mint 17.1, or Fedora 21, no matter the desktop environment used (Xfce 4.12, Cinnamon, MATE or Unity), nor the CPU architecture (64-bit or 32-bit). Anyway, a fix should be available very soon, but only if the developers manage to reproduce the issue.

“Sorry for the troubles guys, just so you know we are aware of this issue and will be looking into it. Thanks for all the info so far, anything more will be helpful as we've not been able to repro this on our end at all so far,” said one of the game’s developers. “I'm curious; has any of you managed to get the game into windowed mode (perhaps by using gamepad) and seen different behaviour?”

Does Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number work well for you guys?
