A great distro with powerful, open-source software

Once again, Arne Exton has had the great pleasure of informing us about the availability of a new build for his Fedora-based Exton|Defender Linux distribution, which is now based on the recently released Fedora 22 operating system.

The unique thing about the Exton|Defender distro is that it would appear to be the first and most probably the only Fedora 22 derivative with the Cinnamon desktop environment preloaded.

So, if you've ever dreamed of having a Fedora Spin with Cinnamon, you should give Exton|Defender a try today, and who knows, you might like it so much that it will become your main operating system on all of your computers.

Besides being based on the Fedora 22 Linux distribution, which was officially announced on May 26, Exton|Defender Build 150531 now uses the Cinnamon 2.4.8 desktop environment and Linux kernel 4.0.4.

"I've made a new version of Exton|Defender based on Fedora. Unique? As far as I know there is no other Live Fedora 22 CD/DVD out there with the Cinnamon desktop," says Arne Exton in an email to Softpedia.

The Exton|Defender distro comes with a great software collection

Another great thing about the Exton|Defender distro is that it comes with a great software collection, which consists of useful utilities and mature applications like the LibreOffice office suite, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, GIMP image editor, and Gparted partition editor.

Among other noteworthy software, we can mention NetworkManager, Sfdisk, Samba, Google Chrome with support for watching Netflix movies, Midnight Commander, Rsync, Ddrescue, FSArchiver, PartImage, TestDisk, NTFS-3g, Safecopy, Emacs, Java Runtime Environment (JRE), JDK, and many more.

Download Exton|Defender Build 150531 right now from Softpedia. Please note that the distribution is available as an installable Live DVD that was designed to work only on 64-bit (x86_64) hardware architectures.
