On July 24, Canonical's Łukasz Zemczak sent in his daily report on the work done by the Ubuntu Touch developers in the last 24 hours, informing us all that the full-featured Mir 0.14 display server update landed in the devel branch of Ubuntu Touch.

According to Mr. Zemczak, Mir 0.14 is a big update that comes with plenty of new features, bugfixes, and performance improvements that will most probably be revealed to us in the coming days.

While the Mir 0.14 update is currently available in the Wily Werewolf devel branch of Ubuntu Touch, the devs are working hard these days to push the update to the stable, Vivid Vervet based branch as well.

"The big Mir 0.14.0 landing in devel finally migrated from proposed to the release pocket in wily - we are now working on getting the same changes scheduled for the vivid overlay," says Łukasz Zemczak.

Moreover, the Notes app has been updated and it will be available in the Ubuntu Store for all Ubuntu phone users in the next days, and there were various fixes to the ubuntu-keyboard component of the new Unity 8 interface.

Last but not least, Ubuntu Touch developers are being informed by Mr. Zemczak that the deadline for the GCC 5 release is at the end of next week, on July 31, as we have reported a few days ago.
