BQ users will have to wait until next week

On August 24, Canonical's Łukasz Zemczak has sent in his daily report informing us all about the latest work done by the Ubuntu Touch developers in prepration for the major OTA-6 software update for the mobile operating system.

Therefore, the biggest news we want to share with you today is that Wednesday, August 26, will see the release of the Ubuntu Touch OTA-6 images for Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition phones. As such, users of the BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition and BQ Aquaris E5 Ubuntu Edition devices will have to wait for the Ubuntu Touch OTA-6 software update until next week, because BQ has some special needs to test the release.

"Because of this, we will probably have to slightly change the OTA dates for this release. Generally what will most likely happen is, we try releasing the arale, mako and flo images tomorrow/Wednesday, and krillin, vegetahd and emulator next week," says Łukasz Zemczak. "The reason for this is that BQ requested specific timelines in case of a delay, so they would only be able to test the image next week. And we wouldn't want to delay all our phone users because of this."

Tomorrow we will have more news on the progress of the release of Ubuntu Touch OTA-6, so stay tuned. We will write additional articles in case the OTA-6 update arrives for the aforementioned devices, as well as of any delays that might appear due to severe bugs.
