Live operations platform update for Cocos2d game engine

Chukong Technologies is launching what is called SDKBOX v1.3, an update for the live operations platform used in more than 2,700 live games.

SDKBOX is a new framework for managing game data software development kits (SDKs) used for analytics, attribution, user acquisition, social, IAP, mediation, and other live operations services, such as events, offers, community, business intelligence, and more.

Cocos2d-x is the world’s largest open source mobile-game engine, with 490,000 registered mobile-game developers and over 50,000 published titles. Read the full article on this launch at VentureBeat.

xoreos 0.0.3 “Bastila” Released

Nicknamed "Bastila," version 0.0.3 of xoreos has been announced. This new release introduces a script system, enhancements and additions to its xoreos-tools, and more. You find this release, for both xoreos, and xoreos-tools, on GitHub. xoreos is an open source reimplementation of the BioWare Aurora Engine.

Shovel Knight on Amazon Fire TV

As the Amazon Fire OS runs on top of the Android open source OS, it makes it possible to port games to this platform. Nate Trost from Trihedron writes in detail, for Gamasutra, how to do just that.

They partnered with Amazon and Yacht Club, and used Nvidia's development package called AndroidWorks to accomplish this platform conversion. Read the full, detailed article here.
