The development team behind the BlackArch OS, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Arch Linux and designed from the offset to be used for all sorts of penetration testing and security auditing operations, has announced the release of BlackArch 2016.01.10.

BlackArch 2016.01.10 is the latest and most advanced ISO image of the Linux kernel-based operating system, bringing more than 30 new penetration testing tools, support for Bluetooth, the powerful mpv video player as a replacement for MPlayer, as well as the htop CLI system monitoring utility.

Moreover, the new BlackArch ISO image updates the userland files, replaces the Opera web browser with Midori, adds Ruby 2 support for the beef package, implements some missing security tools that have been contributed by the community, and includes Linux kernel 4.3.3, just as the latest Arch Linux ISO image does.

"Today we released new BlackArch Linux ISOs. The new ISOs include over 1330 tools," say the BlackArch developers on today's announcement. "We wish to thank all of BlackArch's users, mirrors, and supporters. Thanks for your help."

As expected, you can download the BlackArch 2016.01.10 ISO image right now from our website or directly from the distribution's webpage, where you'll find more download mirrors for a location closer to you, as well as all the details you need to get started with this powerful GNU/Linux operating system for security professionals.
