The Android-x86-based Remix OS was launched a couple of weeks ago to great acclaim, and now it's receiving the first update.

We were expecting to see a much more consistent update for Remix OS, especially since it received so much attention after its initial launch. There are only a couple of fixes in the new version, although they are pretty important.

"We're excited to announce the first ever update for our Remix OS for PC users. You'll find the download on our Jide website. Please try it out and give us feedback on your experience with the update. It'll help us continue to develop a better experience for all of our users!" developers wrote on XDA.

The changelog specifies that the battery indicator has been enabled on laptops (quite important) and that some minor bugs have been repaired.

The other thing that's worth mentioning is that they also said they were working on a new version that would provide 32-bit support, a feature that has been requested by the community.

Until now Remix OS has been seen as a real and powerful Linux distribution that managed to bring a proper Android experience to the desktop, but they also had some issues with the user agreement and with the licenses used. Both problems have been taken care of, and we can't wait to see what the future brings.

You can download Remix OS right now from Softpedia and give it a spin.
