Parsix GNU/Linux 8.5r1 "Atticus" is the first point release in the current stable release of the desktop-oriented operating system, attempting to bring the latest security patches and software updates that have been released upstream, as the OS' developers have synchronized the system with the Debian 8 "Jessie" repositories.

"Parsix GNU/Linux 8.5 (code name Atticus) ships with stable GNOME 3.18 desktop environment and an updated kernel. This version has been synchronized with Debian Jessie repositories as of May 8, 2016," reads today's announcement. "Parsix Atticus ships with LibreOffice 4.3.3 productivity suit."
