Today, June 28, 2016, the GnuCash development team has released yet another maintenance release of their open-source and cross-platform GnuCash 2.6 accounting software.

GnuCash 2.6.13 is here as the most advanced version of the money manager applications that runs on GNU/Linux, Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems, and it arrives three months from the release of the GnuCash 2.6.12 maintenance update to fix a total of 22 issues reported or not by users during all this time.

Looking at the changelog, we can notice that GnuCash addresses 13 reported bugs, among which a crash that occurred when attempting to open the money transfer dialog twice, missing budget reports for the Hungarian edition, a crash that occurred when manually adding a price entry in the Price Editor, as well as an issue with the calculation of check printing positions.

"A few bugs in the calculation of check positions while printing checks have been corrected. If you manually edited the check formats to compensate for these positioning errors in previous versions of GnuCash, you may have to undo these changes. Please check this before printing your next check," say the GnuCash developers in today's announcement.

Other fixes, updated translations, and a warning for Linux users

Several other issues not related to bug reports have been resolved in today's GnuCash 2.6.13 release. Among these, we can notice several build problems, improvements to the adjust_sql_options_string function, improved performance of the quickfill feature when dealing with huge registers, and some much-needed localization changes for Mac OS users.

Download GnuCash 2.6.12 for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows right now from our website. When attempting upgrading from a version of GnuCash from 2.6.0 to 2.6.4 on GNU/Linux operating systems, users are advised to first remove the guile user cache from ".cache/guile/ccache/2.0-LE-8-2.0/" in your Home directory. Otherwise, it appears that several parts of the software might fail to work properly.
