14 DAY TRIAL // Once again, the Debian Project needs your help to define the look and feel of the upcoming Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" operating system and kindly asks you to create and submit beautiful new artwork.
Last month, we reported on Debian Project's call for artwork proposals for Debian GNU/Linux 9, the next major release of the award-winning distribution used by hundreds of thousands of users worldwide, which is currently in heavy development under the Debian Testing umbrella.
"Stretch, the code name of the next Debian release, is a character from the film 'Toy Story.' For the next Debian release, version 9.0, the Debian Project is calling for graphics and other artwork to be submitted as proposals for the look and feel of the operating system," reads the proposal page on the Debian Wiki.
Here's what you need to know before you submit your artwork
Currently, it would appear that there's a single contribution, which you can see attached to this article on the right side, so the Debian Project today is launching an appeal for the community to submit artwork proposals before the September 5, 2016, deadline. The winner will be announced somewhere around the date of September 26.
They are looking for artwork that uses the Debian Logo guidelines, is clean, well designed, easy on the eye, compatible with various GNOME applications, and does not require GTK+ or GDM patching. More information can be found on the Debian Wiki, where you can submit your artwork. Good luck!
The final release of the Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Strech" operating system is expected to arrive sometime at the end of the year, but a specific date has not yet been revealed by the Debian Project. Until then, we can only hope that more of you will be submitting astonishing artwork that will make Debian 9 Stretch a unique release.
