Christine Hall: FOSS Force’s Grandmama Frump

All we can say is watch this interview with Christine Hall and you’ll know what we have to put up with on a daily basis — equipment that’s not quite up to par and a boss who’s a refugee from The Addams Family.

The FOSS Force Video Interview

Yes, that Christine Hall. The one whose byline you often see on this very site. Recorded under lousy lighting with a 10-year-old (or older) webcam that was probably lousy new, this video is about information, not cinematography. So meet Christine Hall. Listen to what she says about looking for contributing writers. Does she mean you? It’s possible. If you have a story idea, please send it to her. We could see [YOUR NAME] in lights right here on FOSS Force!

Meanwhile, sit back, relax, and listen as Christine tells you how FOSS Force got started, what the site is up to, and what she hopes to see in its future. And please feel free to razz her (or the interviewer) in the comments section below this paragraph. We promise not to jump through the Internet, out of your screen, and bite your head off. Well… we probably won’t, anyway.

Christine is one of my favorite Linux writers and I read her articles regularly and trust her opinion. Best wishes.

I met Chris long ago in another country (well, this one, actually, I’m in Canada) and was flabbergasted to reconnect with her on an alumni Faceplant page and discover that she’d become a Gnu/Linux guru, kindasorta, in our mutual old age.

Same trenchant personality, though. Love ya, Chris!

Yup. Ross and I go back a long way. We would run across each other almost daily from ’72 to ’75 in Toronto, a city that at the time was one of the best kept secrets in North America. And even though we haven’t seen each other face-to-face since then, we’re probably even better friends now than we were then.

Thanks for the kind words, ol’ buddy.
