November 7 was the first day of the SUSECON 2016 Open Source conference for Linux, Docker, OpenStack, NFV, and Cloud Foundry enthusiasts and professionals.

Initially announced earlier this year, the annual global end-user conference is being held for five days, between November 7 and November 11, in Washington, D.C., USA, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park hotel, where big names will attend to showcase their latest technologies.

"We are excited to be hosting SUSECON 2016 in Washington, D.C.," said Michael Miller, president of strategy, alliances, and marketing for SUSE. "Our conference in Amsterdam last year was the largest SUSECON ever, and we're looking forward to continued growth in 2016."

SUSE Partner Summit 2016

The event began on November 7 with the SUSE Partner Summit 2016 conference, which is designed for SUSE's partners. More than 200 SUSE partners, among which we can mention IBM, Lenovo, WiproInsights, and many others will join exclusive sessions that could bring them new relationships and profit lines.

During the rest of the SUSECON 2016 event, which is dubbed the premier Linux conference for SUSE customers, partners and community enthusiasts, most of these companies will have a booth to showcase their latest developments in building Linux-based, OpenStack-based or Ceph-based cloud solutions.

Attendees will be able to choose from over 150 sessions and 20 experts-led demo stations with more than 100 hours of hands-on technology sessions about various technology topics, among which we can mention Platform-as-a-Service, Network functions virtualization (NFV), Docker and containers, or software-defined networking.

All sessions will be recorded for those who won't be able to attend SUSECON this year, and they will be able to see them online on the conference's website after the event. You should attend SUSECON 2016 if you care about the future of the Open Source and Linux ecosystem.
