LibreOffice 7.0.3 Released with More Than 90 Bug Fixes, Update Now

LibreOffice 7

The Document Foundation announced today the unexpected availability of the LibreOffice 7.0.3 update to the latest LibreOffice 7.0 office suite series, addressing some important bugs.

Initially scheduled for the first or second week of November, LibreOffice 7.0.3 is here only three weeks after LibreOffice 7.0.2 to address some important issues discovered in the Calc component, which were introduced in the previous update, as well as to improve to document compatibility.

LibreOffice 7.0.3 includes a total of 92 bug fixes, and you can study them all here. If you’re using the LibreOffice 7.0 office suite series on your personal computer, I highly recommend that you update to the new version as soon as possible if you want to experience improved stability and reliability, hopefully without any critical bugs.

LibreOffice 7.0.3 is available for download right now from the official website for all supported platforms, and it should also arrive soon in the stable software repositories of your favorite GNU/Linux distribution, so update as soon as possible.

If you haven’t yet updated to LibreOffice 7.0, The Document Foundation still recommends the LibreOffice 6.4 series for enterprise users and anyone else who values stability over bleeding edge features. According to Italo Vignoli, LibreOffice 7.0 represents the bleeding edge in term of features for open source office suites.

However, The Document Foundation will only support the LibreOffice 6.4 series for one more month, until November 30th, so the next planned update to the LibreOffice 7.0 series will probably enable support for enterprise deployments, which means that it’s stable enough to be used for production work.

LibreOffice 7.0.4 is currently scheduled for release in mid-December, near the Christmas holidays. After that, development will continue only in March 2021 with the LibreOffice 7.0.5 update. The LibreOffice 7.0 office suite will be supported until June 6th, 2021.
