TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 Linux Laptop Gets Tiger Lake CPU Upgrade, Thunderbolt 4 Support

TUXEDO Computers unveiled today the sixth refresh to their TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 Linux laptop with 11th Gen Intel Core processors, Intel Xe graphics, and USB-C 4.0 / Thunderbolt 4 support.

The TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 laptop is the perfect computer for people who are always on the go and also love Linux. It features a 16.8 mm thin, magnesium alloy case and weights less than 1.1 kg, while also offering huge battery life to keep you working all day long `and a lid tiltable at 180 degrees.

And now the Linux laptop it gets even better thanks to the addition of the 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1165G7 “Tiger Lake” CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads, and integrated Intel Iris Xe high-performance graphics, as well as a full featured USB-C 4.0 port with Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort 1.4b, and Power Delivery DC-In support.

While the new Tiger Lake processor promises up to 41% better performance than 10th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU used in the previous model, the Intel Iris Xe graphics offers up to 185% better performance compared to the Intel UHD graphics used in the previous generation of the TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 laptop.

Other highlights of the new TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 Linux laptop include an HDMI 2.0b port for connecting a second external monitor, two USB Type-A ports (1x USB 3.2 Gen1 and 1x USB 3.2 Gen2), and an optional LTE module micro-SIM card slot that takes up one of the two M.2 SSD slots.

Thin doesn’t mean poor battery, as the Linux-powered laptop ships with a large 73 Wh battery capable of runtimes of up to 14 hours when watching videos via Wireless network with a brightness of about 150 nits. Even better, the battery can hold its power up to 24 hours when the computer is in idle mode.

The 6th generation TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 can purchased right now from TUXEDO Computers’ online shop at a starting price of 1.146,50 EUR (~$1,360 USD). As with all laptops from TUXEDO Computers, it comes with TUXEDO OS 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, or openSUSE Leap 15.2 with either the Xfce, KDE Plasma, or GNOME desktop environments.
