Platforms Include New Fanless and Diskless Appliance Suitable for Office Deployment

MANASSAS, Va., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- NCS Technologies, a leading provider of servers, internet appliances, notebooks, desktops and industrial computers today announced the release of three new ultra-compact set-top server appliance platforms targeted at entry level applications.

"The introduction of new entry level ultra-compact appliance platforms supports our commitment to deliver innovative products that address the cost- sensitive needs of our ISV customers," said Pranay Prakash, Executive Director, OEM Servers & Appliances for NCS. "We will continue our engineering efforts and will add new products to this line as technology evolves."

The NCSAPP 50-V is the industry's smallest low-power portable appliance platform designed to run in a fanless and diskless configuration. With no moving parts, the 50-V appliance platform features very high reliability and is suited for entry level network management applications and can be configured as a VPN gateway, network bandwidth controller, SSL, firewall, IDS or IPS. The 50-V features an embedded 600MHz VIA Eden processor, up to 1GB DDR 266 memory, two 10/100 Ethernet ports and Compact Flash memory. For more information on this product, please visit: http://www.ncsapp.com/Fanless.aspx The NCSAPP 50-P is a super quiet but robust appliance platform perfectly suited for 24x7 applications. Its small footprint allows it to be placed on a desk or in small corners where office space is at a premium. The 50-P provides unmatched performance in its unique form-factor and is suitable for SMB applications such as Instant Messaging, Anti-Spam, Anti-Virus and other security applications. The 50-P features an Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 or an Intel(R) Celeron(R) processor and can be configured with a standard 3.5" EIDE hard drive. The 50-P supports up to 2GB of DDR333/266 RAM and comes standard with 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Designed specifically for mass deployment and seamless operation, the ultra-compact NCSAPP 110-P is an ideal low-cost appliance platform suitable for applications such as web hosting, e-mail filtering, firewall, VPN and other security applications. Unlike the 50-P, the 110-P is a 1U rack- mountable appliance that can also be deployed as a set-top unit. The 110-P can be configured with Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 or Celeron(R) processor and has dual Gigabit Ethernet ports onboard. Using a low-profile PCI expansion slot, two more Gigabit standalone or fail-over by-pass Ethernet ports can be added to the system.
