The LQ News Forum Now Syndicates LXer

The LQ news forum now syndicates all LXer news posts. This means you can discuss anything posted at LXer right here at LQ. Thanks to David for supporting the idea and Chris for coming up with it.

I cannot help but feel a little overwhelmed by the quantity of LXer posts.

can we keep them out of the feeds please? The volume of posts means that it is filling the feeds (latest threads, zero replies, news articles) with LXER posts, which means I don't see a zero reply question that I might be able to answer.

Your posts don't show up in the zero replies, jeremy, can a similar arrangement be made for LXER? I don't mind it showing up in the news feed or even the latest reply thread, but a flooded zero reply feed really grates.

I agree with you. I think seeing all those threads was what made me think it was spam. You know, I didn't even notice Jeremy's threads didn't show up in the zero replies, heh .

yeah, the sheer volume of the LXER threads made me think it was spam- but the News etc forum is approved before they are displayed, so I thought naah, can't be spam

My threads do show up on the 0 replies list, FWIW. I've temporarily disabled the feed - I'd like to get everyone's feedback on this. Thanks.

Maybe stick LXer in a News subforum? The volume pretty much overwhelms the LQ News threads. I'd hate to have the LQ local news and commentary wiped out by LXer.

A "Syndicated News" sub-forum is certainly an option. Any other thoughts?

Wow sorry Jeremy the posts looked suspiciously like spam, especially when LXer showed up on slashdot around the same time.

I think the "Syndicated News" sub-forum is an excellent idea, however it should also be noted that the LXer feed appears to re-post the same topics.

the idea of "Syndicated News" sub-forum is also great ... probably people usually cant stand the sight of just about everything/anything ...

either way also works ...
