In Britain, a dead end is also called a cul-de-sac. Although "French",
this phrase is not used in France because it is extremely rude - the correct
French for "dead end" is "voie sans issue". But I thought it
might be appropriate for SCO's particular dead end.[ Reply to This | # ]

First - nice pic !
It hits the nail right on the thumb ;)
There has been a CNN broadcast here today - the topic was "Linux beats
Microsoft in München (Munich)"
It was rather pitiful - not much info, and who was picked to comment on it? Bill
Gates. And some DiDo-like analyst (who thought Linux could be used 'once in the
future...').
There is more stuf promised in the European edition, Saturday at 2000 CET and

As I'm sure a lot of people have been doing, I have been watching SCOX's chart (awaiting
the inevitable downward dive, as people finally cotton on to their
antics).
Checking towards the end of today's trading I noticed 2 x
50,000(ish) peaks in volume. These are way in excess of previous days (weeks)
which have been luck to hit 7,000.
Just wondered if this was important

Heh heh heh.
Actually, there's one pity about them being on a dead-end
road - there won't be any buses going by.
When my Dad was the director of a soft drinks firm,
another soft drinks firm sued his company over the look of
their Iron Brew cans (which looked nothing like the
plaintiff's cans). My Dad responded by buying advertising
on the bus route that went out in front of the plaintiff's
factory, with a huge advertisment for their Iron Brew on
the side :-)
We need to find if there's a bus route going nearby SCO's
headquarters, and get huge advertisments for Linux on all
the buses with the "Dead End" SCO photograph as a feature
:-)

IANALOP
What is the procedure for issuing rulings? Is it a spontaneous
event or are attorneys' schedules consulted for a mutually available date/time?
Only thing I can remotely associate is the Bush-Gore fiasco where the talking
heads consumed most of the bandwidth. IIRC the ruling was read on the courthouse
steps. Can one infer as to the ruling from the events preceeding it? (Court
session/no court session etc.).
The photo is fab - score a

Very odd to see my old office. You see I was employed by
Vultus until SCO bought them and I walked. We were in the
first floor and my office window is the one you see in the
picture. I remember driving away for the last time and
noticing the the dead end sign and smiling. I'd never seen
a cul-de-sac labeled as a dead end. And had never noticed
it before. Leaving a job in this economy, solely on
principle was hard. That sign felt like a good omen.
The building on the left in the picture holds the Canopy
Group and there is one other to the right that has Key
Labs.
The mountain behind is the majestic Mt Timpanagos. Too bad
it is cloud covered, it is really awesome.

dressing is extra, but can only be found in the neighboring building at "The

All for the fantastic price of $7.99 x 10^(-2)!
