The Krusader Krew is pleased to announce the latest stable release of Krusader 1.70.0. Krusader is fully integrated with the KDE Desktop Environment and operates reliably in all Linux graphical environments.

This release focuses on operability and visibility of some user interface elements.

Krusader v1.70.0 contains over 40 changes, bug fixes and updates in response to reports and requests from our users. In addition to the increased stability new features enhance operability and visibility of interface elements like improved application search results, including octal permissions column, filters for selecting files with filter example in the totals line and more colorful synchronizer. An auto-configuring tool was added for easier resolving of dependencies, and also new, various generic file checksum creating and verifying tools, which support md5, sha1, sha256, and other. This new checksum tool also allows recursive actions, that are unique among other file managers.

In this version Krusader's icon is set according to the user's privileges, which adds additional security for administrative management with ability to set the panel startup as profile based instead of directory based.

Column types can now be changed and saved individually to each panel to increase customizability. Special focus was primarily set on expert features of file operations with selecting remote encoding menu for fish, ftp and sftp protocols, calculating space in archives and remote FS and ability to preserve date for local targets at copy and move. In addition a lot of attention was focused on improvement of performance, especially when reading large directory structures.

New release also started redefining usage with shortcut features like opening history on the current panel, a Safari-like Jump-Back feature and opening the current folder in a new tab, clear-location-bar button and adding some common firefox and konqueror shortcuts. For users that prefer using mouse the right mouse click menu introduced trash, delete, shred options, a create new sub menu and ability to synchronize only selected files. Added QuickNavigation module allows faster navigation through complex directory structures using both mouse and keyboard.

This version also improved internal editor's functioning with a support for tabbed editing and ability to open new file in new tab of already active editor. Selecting files for editing and viewing is easier with new search ability to display the line containing the searched text.

Version 1.70.0 also introduces i18n multiple plural support.

This is only a short overview of features that come with new version. Make sure to check the Change Log at http://www.krusader.org/text.php?t=1.70.0.changelog for the complete list of new features, updates, and improvements!

Krusader Version 1.70.0 is available under the GNU General Public License and may be downloaded freely in a source tarball or in a variety of custom binaries for easy installation on other Linux distributions.
