BEA WebLogic SIP Server Coupled with Cantata SnowShore IP Media Server Designed to Help Communication Service Providers Deliver Next-Generation Services for Fixed and Mobile Networks; BEA and Cantata to Perform Innovative Demo at Spring VON 2006

SAN JOSE, Calif., SPRING VON 2006, March 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BEA Systems (Nasdaq: BEAS), a world leader in enterprise and communications infrastructure software today announced it has expanded its partnership with Cantata Technology(TM) (formerly Brooktrout and Excel Switching Corporation), the world's leading independent provider of enabling communications technology. The two companies have completed interoperability testing for Cantata's SnowShore IP Media Server(TM) and BEA WebLogic SIP Server(TM), the converged Java EE-SIP-IMS application server component of the BEA WebLogic Communications Platform(TM) product family. The combined products are designed to allow Web application developers to rapidly build applications for VoIP and IMS networks such as voice/video messaging, video ring back clips, voice/video conferencing and IVR. BEA is scheduled to host a live demonstration of the two products at BEA booth #1721 at Spring VON 2006 in San Jose, Calif.
