RHCE OF THE YEAR SELECTED
We asked and you delivered. Thanks to the hundreds of RHCEs who
submitted entries for RHCE of the Year. Selecting one winner was not
easy. Many of the submissions seemed worthy of the title. But in the end
it came down to one.
Congratulations to our EMEA RHCE of the Year, Marco Palazzotti. Marco
will receive a grant to attend the Red Hat Summit, May 30 - June 2 in
Nashville, Tennessee, and will be honored at the special RHCE/RHCT
reception. A winner from North America and a winner from the Asia
Pacific region will also be recognized.

Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the beta version of
Red Hat's Certified Web Application Stack. This Certified Stack is
intended for use in developing and deploying lightweight web
applications. The Web Application Stack includes the latest Red Hat
certified versions of Apache httpd, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PHP, and Perl.
The beta version will appear automatically in Red Hat Network under the
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 channel. This Web Application Stack channel

In response to customer demand, Red Hat EMEA is proud to announce the
opening of a new training center in Zurich. Classes begin in June and

TIPS FROM RHCEs: PARTPROBE

Many system administrators may be in the habit of re-booting their
systems to make partition changes visible to the kernel. With Red Hat
Enterprise Linux this is not usually necessary. The partprobe command,
from the parted package, informs the kernel about changes to partitions.
After all, anything that can help you avoid a re-boot has to be a good
thing.
