Taleo's Bold and Successful Migration of Core Data IT Infrastructure From UNIX to Linux Recognized by Editors at CIO Magazine Migration Enables Taleo Talent Management System to Deliver Optimal on Demand Performance and Achieve Record Customer Uptime of 99.9 Percent at Less Cost

SAN FRANCISCO, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Taleo Corporation (Nasdaq: TLEO), the leading provider of on demand talent management solutions, today announced that they were named a recipient of the 2006 CIO 100 award. Presented by IDG's CIO magazine, the annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT). Taleo's migration of its core data IT infrastructure from UNIX to Linux and resulting improvements in business performance were recognized by CIO magazine.

According to Abbie Lundberg, Editor in Chief of CIO magazine, "Year after year, the CIO 100 award recipients serve as industry role models for business and IT excellence. This year's winners are particularly remarkable for their ability to translate IT innovation into business value and solid ROI."

The backbone of Taleo's anytime, anywhere service is the data center infrastructure. Hundreds of Taleo customers worldwide with more than 588,000 corporate users rely on it for secure protection and the highest possible availability of their talent data, at access speeds that are the best in the industry. In order to continue delivering optimal on demand performance and record customer uptime while undergoing significant growth and controlling IT costs, Taleo migrated its IT infrastructure from UNIX to Linux.

Key to the deployment and success of this project was Taleo's decision to use PolyServe's Database Utility shared data clustering software. Since the completion of this project, Taleo customer transaction load grew by 147 percent, while maintaining 99.9 percent availability, helping to contribute to its recent independently reported 97 percent customer satisfaction rate. Taleo can also drive over 25 percent more transactions per server than before, adding to increased performance levels.

Taleo Executive Vice President of Product and Technology and CTO Brad Benson said, "In 1999, Taleo pioneered the idea that the software on demand delivery model was not just for small and mid-sized organizations, but would be beneficial and highly adopted among large, global organizations. Similarly here, we once again combined our foresight and innovation and migrated our data centers from UNIX to Linux -- a bold move at a time when Linux was not yet widely adopted."

He continued, "With Linux and PolyServe, our customers enjoy better performance, stability, and availability than ever before at less cost. We've been able to drive up transactions while boosting system availability levels to better than 99.9 percent. The net result is a customer satisfaction rating of 97 percent -- proof that our IT infrastructure is meeting the demands of our growing customer base. We are proud to be recognized for this accomplishment and our continued innovation by CIO magazine."

The 2006 CIO 100 awards will be presented Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, California, on August 22 at the conclusion of the eighth annual CIO 100 Symposium(R) and Awards Ceremony.

About the CIO 100

The recipients of this year's CIO 100 award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative practices in both business and IT. Next, teams of CIO magazine editors and writers reviewed the applications in depth, looking for unique practices and substantial results. Finally, the teams met for a day-long meeting to debate the merits of each nominee and vote on the final 100. Once the top 100 honorees were selected, several honorees were chosen to receive an additional special award.

To provide a vision of ever-changing business trends, the focus of the CIO 100 changes annually. Complete coverage of the 2006 CIO 100 awards will be in the August 15 issue of CIO magazine and available online at http://www.cio.com on August 15.
