This also proves the usefulness of the KDE philosophy of having the advanced feature available even to newbies, rather than hiding it away as the GNOME people do.

I just discovered what "Active Desktop Borders" do. By default KDE has them set to disabled, but when you turn them on there's a whole world of additional functionality there. I'm now running "Active Desktop Borders" with the 'only when moving windows', and I can move a window to a different desktop just by dragging it with the mouse just like you can with the 3D desktop.
