CodeWeavers CrossOver is a commercial product based on the open-source Wine project. Wine emulates key Windows software libraries, allowing Linux or Mac users to run Windows applications. Understanding the Scope

I don't think you understand the scope of what The HeliOS Project does. This is no longer a guy puttering around in his workshop, casually piecing computers together for one or two kids a week. This has evolved into a full scale operation that takes 5-12 requests a day for computers. We have a staff of myself and 4 Directors coordinating this effort. It stopped being small a while ago. We have School Teachers, Child Protective Services Counselors, City and School Bus Drivers, State Assistance Employees, Radio Station Managers, State and Government Union Members and private individuals from every walk of life, coming to us with the names of kids or families of kids who qualify for a HeliOS Project computer. 64 percent of those requested will be built and delivered.

  • Story Type: Tutorial; Groups: Debian
OpenSSH is a great means to protect your connection from being sniffed by others. However, this isn't always enough. Simply proving that you connected to a server is enough to get incriminated. Unfortunately, SSH doesn't provide a native way to obfuscate to whom it connects. Instead, a proxy server can be set up. And this is where TOR comes to play. This howto covers installing TOR on a Debian based system and setting up SSH to use TOR.

Growth Metrics for KDE Contributors

In 1996 when KDE was first announced, it had only a handful of developers and the project could manage the source code without using a revision control system. More and more developers have begun to contribute to KDE over the years, and while there has been some attrition, the total number of active developers working on KDE has been steadily growing. In order to get a pulse from the current developer community, Simon St. James and Arthur Schiwon produced and plotted two basic metrics that show the continued growth within the KDE community.
