One thing that has been holding me back from switching from Firefox to Google Chrome has been the lack of an FTP client. I’ve been quite fond of FireFTP for a while now. Well, my wait seems to be over.

Google Chrome now has an FTP client application called FTP Editor. It’s simple web-like interface makes it extemely easy to use. You can also save your connections, making it a breeze to connect the next time you want to access your FTP server.

The Google Chrome FTP Editor also makes it easy to view and edit your files on your FTP server. Just click “edit” next to the file you want to edit and it shows up in the built in text editor. Just as easy is uploading files. Just click “upload”.

The details screen allows you to edit file permissions and the path. It also tells you the size and the date the file was last altered.

Overall I am very pleased with this application. I even like it better than FireFTP, as it puts all the tools you need right at your fingertips without having to go through dropdown menus. If lack of an FTP client has held you back from switching to Google Chrome, you no longer have an excuse – Google Chrome’s FTP Editor offers an easy, full featured, excellent solution to FTP connections.
