In this article I'm going to tell you how you can gain root access to your Froyo Android smart phone. This comes in handy if your phone comes with firmware applications you want to uninstall.

Go to http://4shared.com on your Froyo Android smart phone. Do a search for z4root.apk. Download the result. You may have to change your phone settings to do this. Go to Settings > Applications and put a check next to Unknown Sources. Now you should be able to download the application. When the download is finished, click on it. You will be prompted to install it. Do this. After it's installed, look for Z4Root in your applications and click on it. Click on temporary root or permanent root depending on your preferences and follow the on screen prompts to change your phone settings. It will ask you to go to Settings > Applications > Development and put a check mark next to USB Debugging. Let the application do its job. It will exit once it's finished. That's it! You now have root access to your Froyo Android smartphone.
