Hardware-software bundling crumbles in France
A French court case has just finished with total damages of 1920 euros against the computer firm Lenovo. The case involved the bundling of unwanted software onto a purchased laptop and the refusal by Lenovo to reimburse the purchaser. The decision means that French consumers now have the right to demand a refund of the cost of unwanted bundled software from the computer maker and in addition, the judgement is also valid in all members of the EU.
