How to Install VMware Player in Linux Mint Maya 13

By default, the virtual ethernet service fails to start when running VMware Player 4.0.4 on Linux Mint Maya 13. This article provides an updated patch for this issue.

By default, the virtual ethernet service in VMware Player 4.0.4 will fail when you try to start it. Fortunately there is an old patch that will fix this issue. I've updated the patch so it is compatible with VMware Player version 4.0.4. You can download it here.

To run the patch, after installing VMware Player extract it to your home folder and issue the following command in Terminal:

sudo bash /vmware802fixlinux320/patch-modules_3.2.0.sh
