Linux Professional Institute Offers Linux Exams at Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators Conference

(Sacramento, CA, USA: October 18, 2012) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization (http://www.lpi.org), will offer all LPIC exams and the new Linux Essentials exam at the Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators Conference (HECC) November 16, 2012, at the Crowne Plaza, Union Station in Indianapolis, Indiana (http://hecc.k12.in.us/conference/sessions/index.cfm). During the HECC State Conference, LPI will also offer its popular full day LPIC-1 Exam Cram workshop on Thursday, November 14 (http://hecc.k12.in.us/conference/workshops/index.cfm).

LPI is offering LPIC exams at a promotional rate of $99 per exam--except for LPI-301 which will be $219. Exams will be offered at 1:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m. in the Wabash Room (Union Station) on Friday November 16th. LPIC exams take approximately 90 minutes to complete and 60 minutes is allocated for the Linux Essentials exam. To ensure exam availability please register in advance at events@lpi.org and indicate preferred exam. To participate in the exam lab you must obtain an LPI ID at LPI's registration area: http://www.lpi.org/register

On the day of the exam, candidates may make payment for their exams by cheque, cash or credit card. Payment may also be made in advance via Paypal. Exam candidates should bring their LPI ID and a government issued photo identification to the exam lab.

Prior to the exam labs, exam candidates may prepare for the tests through an LPIC-1 Exam Cram workshop by D.L. Corbet & Associates commencing at 9:30 a.m. in the Union Station-Southern Room. The LPIC-1 Exam Cram workshop assists candidates in preparing for the LPIC-101 and 102 exams. The workshop presenter, Don Corbet, has offered this exam preparation workshop for several years at a variety of Linux conferences and events.

Conference participants are also invited to visit LPI staff at their booth (#168) in the Vendor Exhibit Hall to obtain additional information on Linux and Open Source training and certification.
