The Black Lab Software team, through Roberto J. Dohnert, had the pleasure of announcing earlier today, March 24, the immediate availability for download of all four editions of Black Lab Linux 6.5, which includes Xfce 4.12, KDE 4.14.2, MATE 1.8.1, and GNOME 3.10.2 desktop environments.

Black Lab Linux 6.5 incorporates two different kernel packages, Linux kernel 3.13 LTS and Linux kernel 3.16.0-31, which is used by default then booting the operating system from the Live DVD or after installation. The LTS (Long Term Support) kernel is there for users who have hardware components that aren’t recognized by the default Linux kernel package.
