Microsoft signals cut prices to combat Linux rivals

Microsoft has admitted that growing pressure from open-source operating system, Linux, is eating into the company’s profits and will hit revenues hard over the next fiscal year. Increases in Linux distribution coincides with software delays, virus attacks and expiring customer licenses – problems for Microsoft which has meant sluggish PC sales.
