Tizen 3.0 to Ship with Linux Kernel 4.1, Drops X for Wayland

Tizen is an open-source Linux operating system developed under the umbrella of the Linux Foundation, which aims to run on phones, tablets, watches, and IVI (in-vehicle infotainment). A new milestone for the 3.0 branch of the operating system has been released, and it bring some pretty interesting changes.

As some of you might have already noticed, Tizen hasn't had a huge impact on the market, despite being supported by a lot of companies, including Samsung. In fact, Tizen is just one of the few open-source operating systems that have been developed in the past few years, and none of them has really taken off. We can add to this list SailfishOS and Ubuntu Touch. Coming from behind is the Plasma Mobile, powered by KDE.
