Barry Kauler, the father of Puppy Linux, one of the smallest and lightweight GNU/Linux distributions ever created, on which numerous distros are based, announced that Quirky Linux entered the "Werewolf" series of development.

The first release, Quirky 7.3, is based on the latest Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) computer operating system and it has been designed from the offset to be fully compatible with the default software repositories of Ubuntu Linux.

Of course, this means that users will be able to install any package from the upstream Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) repositories in Quirky 7.3, which is currently powered by Linux kernel 4.2.5.
