PeaZip 5.9.0 Open Source Archiver Adds Support for Extracting RAR5 Files on Linux

The developers of the PeaZip software, a cross-platform and open-source graphical application designed as a front-end for some popular archive managers announced the release and immediate availability of PeaZip 5.9.0.

PeaZip 5.9.0 a few interesting features, among which we can mention support for extracting RAR5 archives under any GNU/Linux operating system without the need for using the UNRAR5 plugin, which is now available as an alternative extraction engine.

While the p7zip backed has been updated to version 15.09 for GNU/Linux users, the 7z backend was upgraded to version 15.12 on Microsoft Windows operating systems. On the other hand, the Pea backend was updated to version 0.52.
