MKVToolNix developer Moritz Bunkus has released this weekend a new major version of his wildly used, cross-platform, and open-source MKV (Matroska) manipulation software.

Prominent features of MKVToolNix 9.1.0 include initial support for WebVTT subtitles, better support for teletext subtitles in MPEG transport streams, the addition of multiple fields in the JSON/verbose identification formats, as well as better support for handling AVC/h.264 interlaced frames that have the bottom field first.

Also new in MKVToolNix 9.1.0 is an option in the Merge -> Output preferences to control if the GUI should clear the "output file name" input when the user removes the last file, along with an option in the Merge -> Default values preferences to control if the GUI should clear the "file title" input when deleting the last file.
