The development team behind digiKam, a popular open-source and cross-platform RAW image editor, viewer and organizer, announced today the release of digiKam 5.1.0.

Probably the most important change in the digiKam 5.1.0 update, besides the usual bug fixes, is the inclusion of the libraw 0.18.0 library for reading RAW images from various digital cameras. As such, the new libraw release brings support for the Canon 80D, Canon 1300D, Canon 1DX Mark II, Fujifilm X-Pro2, Fujifilm X70, Fujifilm X-E2S, Nikon D5, Leica M and Leica X-U.

Additionally, digiKam users will be able to access RAW images from the Olympus Pen F, Olympus SH-3, Panasonic DMC-GX80/85, Panasonic DMC-TZ80/81/85/ZS60, Panasonic DMC-TZ100/101/ZS100, Sony ILCA-68, Sony ILCE-6300, Sony RX1R II, Sony RX10 III, HTC One A9, HTC One M9, PhaseOne IQ150, PhaseOne IQ180 IR, PhaseOne IQ3, and Samsung Galaxy S7.
