syncOSx86 is based on Android and powered by syncUI (our custom KODI build) - it's designed for ease of use on an HDTV with simple inputs, and is a fresh take on Android UI that I think you'll find interesting if you're a layperson, tinkerer, gamer, or developer.

I'm a long time reader who previously maintianed DreamStudio, a multimedia content creator's distro based on Ubuntu (I was the art director for Ubuntu Studio for a couple releases as well).

My new company, Volocian Studios, makes game and video consoles called SYNC, and we've taken all the extra and customised bits of our syncOS, put them on an Android-x86 base, and released syncOSx86.

I think you and your readers might find this distribution quite interesting as (like I say) it's an Android distro rather than GNU/Linux, and we do things a bit differently with regard to the homescreen/launcher/shell by booting straight into syncUI, our custom KODI build, to make it easy for people to play both retro roms on the appropriate emulator, as well as Android games and Apps, all from the same interface (it's basically our vision of convergence).

Anyway, let me know what you think and write back if you have any questions or concerns :-).
