Open source version of webOS launches with smart device focus

LG has released webOS Open Source Edition, expanding its HTML5-savvy Linux distro beyond its smart TVs and fridges to a larger “smart devices” market. In collaboration with the South Korean government, consumer electronics giant LG announced the release of webOS Open Source Edition, an open source version of its well-traveled, web-oriented Linux distro.
