I am happy to report that Nuxified.com has just been officially launched. It is a new web site for all existing and aspiring GNU/Linux users to share stories about experiences from migration to usage of a GNU/Linux operating system as well as "show off" stories of your current GNU/Linux setup and customizations you may have made to it.

The site allows you to publish a story in its full or link to a story that fits the nuxified.com profile if it was already published elsewhere. This means that, while it is encouraged to publish stories in full on nuxified.com you may also publish stories you may have written about GNU/Linux on your blog or personal site or if you found one that is interesting anywhere else on the web.

This way, Nuxified.com aims to become a number one resource of desktop GNU/Linux migration, usage experience and "GNU/Linux show off" stories. As such it will promote the expansion of GNU/Linux to the desktop as those who may be considering a switch to GNU/Linux may discover incentives in the stories written by people like them, desktop users. Just imagine such a Windows user reading about how someone else like him found his computing home in GNU/Linux or about what somebody else was able to do with its GNU/Linux setup. Such a visitor might just get a bit excited seeing the universe of GNU/Linux through the eyes of the very GNU/Linux users, and all the great things that this universe offers. And excitement leads to motivation which then leads to determination to make a switch.

Remember the Apple's "switch" campaign and those smiling faces next to their switch stories describing how they got enlightened by Mac? Well, this is actually something similar, except that we don't ask you to smile to the camera and we don't even ask you to say all best things about your GNU/Linux. All we want is to hear your story and see your nuxified desktop setup.

The debate is going on the topic of whether GNU/Linux is or isn't ready for the desktop with articles popping up that conclude with either of the answers to that question pointing to the positives and negatives of GNU/Linux in regard to their crucialness to the adoption. However, there is an increasing number of people who do use GNU/Linux on their desktops today, for which it obviously is ready. I am one of those users, you may be another. Let's tell them about our experience. Let's show them our best and greatest GNU/Linux setup, what we were able to do with it. Let's brag about it! Let's show what it means to be nuxified, with our stories and screenshots. :)

You can find more information about the site on the about page, FAQ and submission guidelines.
