The City of Cape Town is positioning itself as a leader in free and open source software and has plans to extend its current OSS network to as many as 1500 OSS desktops across the city.

The City of Cape Town is positioning itself as a leader in free and open source software and has plans to extend its current OSS network to as many as 1500 OSS desktops across the city. This according to the City of Cape Town's Nirvesh Sooful who told delegates at the Cape FOSS Seminar yesterday that they were looking at rolling out open source machines in the libraries and clinics in the city.
