New ISPConfig version enables Linux Administration

March 2, 2006 Lüneburg, Germany, Dallas, Texas. Today, Till Brehm announced the release of ISPConfig version 2.2.0, which is available immediately for download. ISPConfig is the leading Open Source remote web administration tool on the market. The turn-key application is free, now supports x86_64 systems and provides a secure remote graphical interface.

Originally developed for professional hosting service providers (HSP) and corporate IT professionals, ISPConfig provides a complete and stable control panel equivalent to any in the industry. With a design to empower system administrators, ISPConfig eliminates bottlenecks which would normally hurt per server profitability.



ISPConfig provides an ideal solution for ISPs to increase their customer bases and customize systems to meet the corporate need for self administration. The latest version provides increased security and flexibility.



CEO and project leader, Till Brehm says “ISPConfig version 2.2.0 represents an advance in our supported platforms and the first version available for x86_64 systems”. Brehm adds, “ISPConfig easily installs on other architectures because the software compiles from source.”



According to the company, the new installer is easier to use than past versions providing more fault-tolerance. Version 2.20's improvements help inexperienced users install and administer Linux servers with an user-friendly interface. The product helps administrators, accustomed to graphical interfaces such as Windows, transition to Linux.



Brehm further states, “ISPConfig's growth can be attributed to its consistent and highly integrated interface which combines the configuration of multiple services such as web, mail, anonymous ftp and database servers.”



ISPConfig's provides a no-cost solution for Hosting Providers, Registrars, Telcos, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Additional users include owners of root servers and Small Office, Home Office mail and intranet servers.



ISPConfig allows administrators to update from their underlying distribution's support facilities. ISPConfig is not affected by upgrades to any supported Linux platform.



The company sites ease of use without the need for experienced Linux knowledge. ISPConfig provides administration interfaces for the system, reseller, client and email users.
