Libervis.com is doing a community interview with Simon Phipps, the Chief Open Source Officer at Sun Microsystems. Our interviewing process is open and cooperative inviting everyone that wants to propose a question to be asked in a final interview.

Even though there already appears to be a recent interview with Simon Phipps he has agreed to be cooperatively interviewed by Libervis.com.

What makes this interview different is that it allows everyone who has a question to propose it to be asked in an interview. This process may enable us to ask questions of true interest to the community and gives everyone a chance to, at least indirectly, interact with an interviewee.

All you have to do is visit our question proposals forum thread, review questions already proposed and then ask your own if it has not already been asked or answered elsewhere.

To verify if it has already been asked elsewhere it is recommended that you read that recent eWeek interview as well as the Sun FAQ before asking your question. If it hasn't been entirely answered already, you may make your question proposal.

After enough of proposals have been submitted we will compile lists of questions and invite Simon to answer them. The answers may be available publically in a forum so that everyone involved gets a chance to add a new question. When everything has been reviewed and all chosen questions are answered we will publish the final interview in our articles section.

Thank you for your cooperation. I'm sure that this open conversation can yield an excellent and enlightening Q&A regarding Sun Microsystems and its involvement with our community.
