National Instruments Delivers Motion Control for Linux, VxWorks Platforms
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb 25, 2004 -- National Instruments (Nasdaq:NATI) today announced the new Motion Hardware Driver Development Kit. Engineers who were once limited to developing motion control applications on the Windows platform now can use the Motion Hardware Driver Development Kit to create embedded motion systems in varied platforms such as Linux, VxWorks and RTX. The new Driver Development Kit includes a comprehensive manual designed to help engineers create the necessary software interface for using NI motion hardware on their platform of choice. The manual also offers low-level details and directions for communication with NI 733x, 734x and 735x motion controllers. For engineers wanting to incorporate NI motion control hardware into their systems but lacking the training, experience or time to develop their own drivers, National Instruments Alliance Partner Sensing Systems has developed both a VxWorks driver and a Linux driver for NI motion hardware.
