Pacheco Committee Report Whacks Mass ITD/ODF

Last October 31, the Chairman of a Massachusetts Senate Committee held a public hearing (more akin to a kangaroo court) at which then State CIO Peter Quinn and his general counsel were required to testify, following which a parade of exclusively hostile witnesses was invited to testify against the ITD's ODF policy. Now, the investigative report of the same committee has been issued.

That report was finally issued at a press conference in Boston yesterday afternoon. Despite the fact that the report follows the completion of an eight month investigation, it could have been written last October: it's final conclusions directly track the accusations made last fall, and reject every position of the ITD. The report itself is not available on line, but portions of the Executive Summary, the complete Final Recommendations, and a reconciliation of what is right and what is wrong can be found here.
