Ryan Quinn has been the lead developer of Symphony OS since it's inception; however, now both him AND the project he has tirelessly been working on are both in trouble.

He puts it best himself:

"We need your help,

First I would like to that those of you who assisted us recently. The symphony site will soon be moving to a new server and speed and stability should be increased a lot.

Now the reason for my post. While my foray into freelancing http://www.rpquinn.com has started there have been good weeks and bad, some very bad. Like this one. Core symphony development is currently stalled as I am without electricity in my apartment. I need to raise at lease $200-$300 This week in order to have electric restored and cover some expenses. Project donations are greatly appreciated and any referral for paying projects are greatly appreciated as well.

I have really big plans for symphony in the near future that will hopefully blow some larger distros out of the water. I cant wait to share them all with you.

I must say I never really understood the idea of a open source community until I began working with all you great people.

Thank you for your continued support and kind words.

Donations can be made via PayPal "
