Linux Mint 3.0 beta sports latest Ubuntu features

The Linux Mint team on May 9 released the first beta of Linux Mint 3.0, code-named "Cassandra" and utilizing a 2.6.20 kernel for improved hardware support. The Ubuntu-based distribution also sports a GNOME 2.18 default desktop and several Ubuntu "Fiesty Fawn" innovations, the team said.
