SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- DeviceVM, a San Jose-based company developing rapid-start computing technologies, today announced the availability of its Splashtop(TM) platform on four new ASUS motherboards. Originally released on the P5E3 Deluxe, Splashtop is now available on the P5E3 Premium as well as the mainstream M3N-HT Deluxe/Mempipe, the M3N-HT Deluxe/HDMI, and the M3N-H/HDMI motherboards.

Branded by ASUS as Express Gate, Splashtop enables users to access the Internet seconds after turning on their PC. ASUS, the leading worldwide motherboard, components and notebook manufacturer, expanded its offering of Splashtop motherboards due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the P5E3 Deluxe from press and PC enthusiasts alike.

"Splashtop is changing the way people use their computers, and we're excited ASUS shares our vision of the way computing should be," says Mark Lee, CEO and co-founder of DeviceVM. "By the end of 2008 we expect most consumers to not only be asking for this technology on motherboards, desktops and laptops, but expecting it."

Built into a computer's motherboard, Splashtop uses Linux to run users' favorite programs seconds after they turn on their computer. Programs included in Splashtop are customized for each manufacturer. In the case of ASUS Express Gate, they include a web browser, Skype, a VoIP and Instant Messaging client and the ability for ASUS to update Splashtop remotely.

"We've seen a great response to our initial Splashtop products and we're excited to be partners with an innovative leader like DeviceVM," says Jackie Hsu, President of ASUS Computer International.

DeviceVM works with each PC manufacturer to offer an extremely fast and convenient complement to traditional operating systems like Windows or Linux. Functions like media playback, photo sharing, chat, VoIP, and Internet allow consumers to use their favorite applications seconds after turning on their PC. Meanwhile diagnostic and recovery functions allow manufacturers to help consumers fix problems quickly and economically. All motherboards are currently available through ASUS authorized dealers world-wide.

Splashtop will be present at the ASUS booth in Las Vegas Convention Center in South Hall 4, 35162 so please contact us to setup a demo while you are there.
