Re-tasked PCs deliver a greener world and a more equitable availability of technology

Vancouver and Winnipeg, Canada – December 20, 2007 – Vector Linux Organization, the world's leading distribution of a small, fast Linux operating system that enables even modest PCs to run today's state-of-the-art applications, today announced the release of Vector Linux 5.9. “From a technical perspective, this release continues our renown tradition of stability, blazing speed, extensive hardware support and broad application validation, “ said Robert Lange, Vector Linux Founder and Chief Architect. Key new hardware support includes a full set of the latest wireless drivers plus printers, scanner and camera driver support. New software integration and validation includes updates of open source browsers including FireFox, Opera and SeaMonkey; plugin support for Flash, java, mp3, real media, Windows media, pdf and Quicktime; and extensive application validation including OpenOffice, KDE, Abiword, and many games.
