I would like to add at least one of these to KaOS so I can install (several) missing packages that i need.
Is there a way to do so?

Our reporter almost reported this news well.

He neglected to tell us what AUR is in the first paragraph.
    Not cool at all.
You left many of us hanging as to what in the world AUR is.

Care more. Get the primary info across First, not second.

Based on the description of the features and capabilities of these applications, they are crude and primitive in comparison to Synaptic. Yes, I know Synaptic is for Debian-based distros, but I am only comparing the functionality. IOW, Arch-based distros could use something like Synaptic.

Pamac works like Synaptic, only more graphical (includes icons). If you want something that’s kind of 1:1 to Synaptic, install Octopi. it can even browse the AUR if you configure it to. The thing is that you need an AUR helper already installed for it to do that.

Generally, I wouldn’t recommend Arch to anyone who’s happy and comfortable with GUI tools and the Debian world. Debian’s perfectly fine and doesn’t require migration (I know a lot of friends who use Arch like me who would kill me for saying that but it’s true :P )

        Misguided elitism.
That’s like insisting on driving a stick shift when Automatic transmission cars are widely available. I love driving a stick but I recognize the usefulness of a an automatic.

I am way past the point where I have to prove my ‘machismo’ by using Apt and dpkg so I use Synaptic. :-)
