KaOS is a lightweight hypervisor platform based on Linux KVM. The Kernel attached Operating System (KaOS) is under 10MB in size and has the OS embedded in the Kernel. It is designed to be a universal building block for virtualized and cloud environments. Simply boot the KaOS-enabled Linux kernel and you have a running bare-metal hypervisor. KaOS is managed through a menu-driven CLI and also has an option to access the standard Linux shell environment. The CLI is designed to speed up the deployment process whether you are an experienced Linux user or have no Linux experience at all. KaOS has a rapidly growing feature-set that includes automated firewall configuration, automated virtual machine image generation and advanced virtual networking capabilities. KaOS is released under the GPL and can be found at http://www.carbonmountain.com. |
